Its funny how your perception can change when you have finally gotten a chance to use something .
when I first heard of Dyson vacuum cleaners I thought it was a bit of a gimmick { like rainbow vacuums} They took a while to filter through to Cape Town South Africa but the first glimpse I got of them were the ones brought back by people who had spent some time working in the UK.
there was no one here to fix them and I got the call.
Up to then and even now the vacuum market here has been dominated by Electrolux.
they still out sell every other brand by at least a 10 -1 ratio.
Dyson has now been available for a number of years , about 4 actually
The first Dyson I got my hands on was a dc 04 I was impressed but not overwhelmed.
then I got a dc05 and then a dc07 now this is were things changed.
What a fantastic machine it worked so well i started to use it in my house and its ability to clean up fine concrete dust after a build without clogging was amazing.
as time went but I started to toy with the idea of selling these machines.
i have a vacuum shop and have had a Electrolux and AEG sales and service agent's for a while , trouble is is that here in SA they don't bring in ver many premium models as this is not there market , so I approached Dyson SA and they were very willing to help me . I was given test samples to try out and was even given some older machines that customers had brought them to display in my shop like I do with the electrolux machines.I have been blown away by these machines
I have done allot of research on them including utube . I find it amazing that the only people to knock these machines are vacuum shop owners who are tied down to other brands , Miele and Morse come to mind . They can't sell them as they have deals with these company's and so are missing out on the huge sales success.
i watched one guy compare a dc07 to a Morse vacuum , which he is obviously a agent for.
The Morse might be a very good vacuum cleaner but this guy defeats this buy bad mouthing the Dyson with out knowing much about it. He and others claim the filters are expensive and must be replaced every six months
go read the info on the machine and you will see they are life time filters and need to be washed every six months. They are expensive when compared to a hoover filter but when compared to machines in there price bracket they are reasonable . You only will need to replace them if YOU damage them.
The machines are made of Plastic but its a good quality plastic and it last.
They also come with a five year warranty that covers every thing except abuse.
these machines do have there faults but so does every thing else out there and after seeing how Dyson test there vacuums I'm sure that my one will last a long time.
go and try one I haven't met any one who hates them except there competition
